Parkinson’s Ninja Head Coach and founder.

Hi, my name is Zoltan and I am one of the founders of Parkinson’s Ninja CIC. I’m from Hungary from where I have a degree in Conductive Education. This looks at ways to use neurorehabilitation techniques to reorganise the neural pathways damaged by conditions such as strokes, cerebral palsy, M.S. and Parkinson’s.
When I heard about the Rock Steady Boxing programme a few years ago I was very excited at the opportunities it offered to use specially tailored exercise to target the many different symptoms of Parkinson’s. I signed up for the Rock Steady Boxing training programme in the USA and after I’d completed that, I set up the Wirral branch in November 2018. For the first 12 months we had between one and eight regular participants, but it was always my dream to grow the group so we could help many more people with Parkinson’s. We grew slowly until the pandemic but since returning after lockdown, we have transformed our programme moving away from the original Rock Steady Boxing foundation to also use taekwondo, mixed martial arts and other techniques to bring a wider variety of fun and exercise to the group.
My wife and I first came to the UK when we moved to Birmingham in 2000, but I have also lived in Canada, South Africa, the USA and New Zealand. We then moved to the Wirral in 2013 and settled in Wallasey with our two children. We both work for the charity Stick and Step where I am a therapist and get to put my degree into practice every day. In my spare time I love any kind of sport and fitness and I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo.
