WHAT IS PARKINSON’S NINJA CIC?

Parkinson’s Ninja Community Interest Company runs free exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s.

We aim to improve mobility, balance, strength, speech and confidence in a safe and professional environment.

Parkinson’s Ninja CIC provides boxing and martial arts-based exercise classes specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s. Our approach is based on the Rock Steady Boxing curriculum, which we combine with Taekwondo-based floorwork elements and neuro-rehabilitation techniques to cater for a wide range of abilities and needs – hence the name Parkinson’s Ninja.

Our exercise programme is designed specifically to combat the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

The sessions are high-energy and fun, held at a well-equipped martial arts academy with appropriate flooring that is soft and safe.

All you initially need is comfortable clothes and water – we provide boxing gloves if you need them, although we recommend that you buy your own if you like the sessions and decide to attend regularly.

Partners/carers are welcome to come along, either as helpers in the class or just for a cuppa and a chat.

The program is open to those 18+ (no specific older aged person provision) with Parkinson’s and those with physical disabilities.
